What to expect

A nice 18 km ride, crossing two bridges over the Crowe River and returning to our starting point along an unpaved, level, low traffic, gravel road.

This ride was planned to coincide with another local event. Church Key Brewery and the Littlecar Repair Co. present “Augtoberfest”, with a Vintage Volkswagen Show, ice cold delicious beverages and more.

Location: Pethericks Corners, 7.5 km north of Campbellford, Ontario

Ride Date: Saturday August 12th 2023

Meeting time: 10 a.m.

Meeting place: Pethericks Corners; Along the side of Crowe River Rd close to Northumberland Rd 28. (see map and description)

Level: beginner to Intermediate (see description)

Distance: 18 km

Duration: 1 hour to 1.5 hours

Surface Types: paved country roads and one unpaved back road to avoid the Hwy.

Description:

We will park and meet along Crowe River Rd at Pethericks Corners. Following this road we’ll cross Crowe Bridge and continue on to 13th Line East. Travelling along 13th Line we will cross back over the river at Allan Mills Bridge and turn on to Rylstone Rd. Continuing along Rylstone all the way until it comes to Spring Brook Rd. A quick couple of hundred yards on this busier road and we turn off onto 10th Line E and follow it back to Crowe River Rd and back to our vehicles.

Notes:

Ride single file on roads when there is traffic. Do not pass other cyclists on the right. Shoulder check when passing; be sure to give warning (bell or voice) when passing. Be kind and courteous.
