We’re working on a letter to the planning team at Northumberland County regarding the bridge design plan for the new Campbellford Bridge (design set to be finalized in 2023). While the current design plan does include bike lanes, they are not separated lanes and we’d like to see more robust bike infrastructure in the design.

The Municipality of Trent Hills has applied for funding through the Government of Canada’s Active Transportation Fund. Bike Action submitted a proposal to the municipality with our recommendations for how this funding could be used to make Trent Hills a safer, healthier, and all around better place to ride.

Our Infrastructure Committee hopes to connect with other local area stakeholders to push for improvements to local trails (including the Trans Canada Trail between Hastings and Campbellford). We’d like to see local trails improved and maintained in order to make them more accessible for recreational cyclists, commuters, and tourists travelling between Trent Hills towns.
